After a record-breaking 2015, KANE WILLIAMSON became the first New Zealander to top the ICC world test cricket batting rankings. This achievement came off the back of five test centuries and scoring more runs than any other New Zealand batsman in a calendar year.
In February 2016 the 25-year-old was named New Zealand Sportsman of the Year at the 2016 Halberg Awards. His reputation was further enhanced in April 2016 when he became Wisden’s 2015 Leading Cricketer in the World – the first New Zealander to be awarded this title. Williamson was made captain of the BLACKCAPS in 2016 and went on to win both Cricketer of the Year and Test Player of the Year at the 2016 New Zealand Cricket Awards.
More recently, Kane scored his 18th test century to pass Martin Crowe for most centuries by a New Zealander, he became the fastest New Zealand player to score 5000 test runs and 5000 ODI runs and he was the highest run scorer in the 2018 IPL.
